Available Certificate Level Courses & Monthly Fees
SLITHM offers a variety of specialized tracks designed to meet global hospitality standards. All core certificate courses run for a duration of 05 months (Full-time).
Here is the breakdown of the monthly course fees:
- Professional Cookery: Rs. 10,000.00 per month
- Restaurant & Bar: Rs. 7,000.00 per month
- Hotel Reception: Rs. 5,000.00 per month
- Hotel Housekeeping: Rs. 5,000.00 per month
Note: A one-time Registration Fee of Rs. 1,000.00 and an Examination Fee of Rs. 1,000.00 apply to all courses.
Special Course: Pastry & Bakery
For aspiring bakers, SLITHM offers a dedicated Certificate Level Course in Pastry & Bakery.
- Duration: 05 months (Full-time)
- Course Fee: Rs. 20,000.00 per month
- Location: Available exclusively at SLITHM Colombo.
General Entry Criteria
To apply for these certificate programs, candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- Age Limit: 17 years or above.
- Educational Qualifications: Must have passed 06 subjects (including Mathematics & English) from the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) examination with at least 03 Credit passes in not more than two sittings.
- Alternative Pathway 1: Completion of Craft Level at SLITHM along with one year of Industrial Training in the relevant field.
- Alternative Pathway 2: Currently employed in the hotel industry with at least 02 years of Industrial Training in the relevant field.

While the Pastry & Bakery course is restricted to Colombo, the other certificate courses are available at all provincial schools except Batticaloa and Jaffna. You can apply to any of the following branches:

Admission to these courses is competitive. Applicants will be selected based on their performance in a selection test and a formal interview conducted by the institute. Successful candidates will be contacted via email regarding interview dates.
